Presentation

Rafa Fonteriz (Valencia, 1961) is a sketcher of “classic” realistic style in the line of Dave Gibbons (Watchmen) or Brian Bolland, but that sins of a certain statism in its drawings. Fonteriz occurred to know in the first years of the decade of the 90, and since then it has carried out works of diverse: comic strips for adults (Effect Dominated, serializado in the Viper), erotic-pornographic (in Kiss Comix and Eros Comix), science-fiction albums for the European market (Transformation), comic-books of superheroes (the group “made in spain” Inc. Iberia - with personages created by Carlos Pacheco and Rafa Marin for Spain, and Nocturne for Marvel the USA) or more of some thirty covers for reediciones of Captain Trueno.

Magazines

Kiss Comix (Editions the Cupola). It realizes the series erotic-parodic XXX-Women (18 5 chapters of pgs), pulicada by deliveries around 1992 and carried out by émulos of some of the met superheroes more. In the USA it was published by Eros Comix (sub-I seal of Fantagraphics) like miniseries of 4 comic-books, and soon reedited in album with additional material.

The Viper (Editions the Cupola). Between 1994 and 1995 Effect publishes the series to color “Dominated” (five 8 chapters of pgs and one of 5).

Eros Comix (Publishing Dolmen). Magazine of cómics erotic-pornographic for which it regularly realizes short comic strips from his first deliveries (at least from number 9 that we have certainty). For the magazine seris has realized several: Histories of sex and style (ten chapters of 5-6 pages), the dream of the reason (six chapters of 8 pages, plus a chapter of 14), Hunter of relics (chapters of 8 pages) and one continuation of XXX-Women.

Monographs

Nocturne (Marvel, 1995). Miniseries of 4 numbers with a new personage.

Inc. Iberia (Planet, 1996-1997). Miniseries of 6 numbers acclimated in Spain and carried out by a group of Spanish superheroes. Personages and arguments created by Carlos Pacheco and Rafael Marin, scripts of Rafael Marin. Later he was compiled in a volume.

Carmilla (Comics Doubts, 1999). Prestige of thematic vampírica with script of Roy Thomas, in whom Isaac of the Rivero Jr and Fonteriz is alternated in the drawing of the pages.

Transformation. Transformation is a series in format album realized for the agency SAF Comics that is in charge as well of its publication in different countries from the European market and the USA. Drawing and color of Fonteriz, under scripts of the science-fiction novelist J.M. Eyrie. Series of three albums (published in France in 2003, 2004 and 2006), of which two in Spain by Publishing Dolmen have been published (2003 and 2006). One is cómic police of science-fiction, acclimated in the future near and carried out by a sordomudo police (one communicates with special glasses) expert in crimes related to computer science and a young psychologist who him aid in its investigations.

Effect Dominated (Edicions de Ponent, 2003). Mixture of police, action and vampires with some doses of eroticism, cómic is acclimated in an indetermine city of a near future where the health police creates a shock body to fight against an infection that extends without control and whose effects remember the vampirismo. One is a new version of cómic that was published originally to color in the Viper, that this edition totally was remade by the author, now in black and white and with finishing totally different from its habitual style, with a looser style and dirty, that remembers the one of Are Phillips.

Illustration

Fonteriz drew the covers for Captain Trueno Fans (Editions B), collection that reedits old woman comic strips of the personage. It altogether drew the covers for more than 31 first numbers (except the 25), that also were reused for the later compilation in hard cover of that same cómics. In spite of not being a comic strip work properly, yes it is his work of greater diffusion to date. Also it drew with the same personages a cover for the Magazine, I supplement dominical of the newspaper the World, that in May of 1999 dedicated an ample news article to the personage, including an unpublished short comic strip (3 pgs drawn by Jesus Redondo).
